Setting up a livestream for YouTube using dbell
- Make sure you have a YouTube Account ready for use
- Download and install XSplit Broadcaster on the computer you’ll use for the livestream
- Setup the dbell video doorbell or camera wherever you’d like, using the app to preview the doorbell camera
- It’s recommended you use an Ethernet cable to connect the doorbell to your network, as it’s simply more reliable
- Once the doorbell is connected to your network find out the dbell IP address from the settings.
- Find your RTSP string from the dbell app- Settings>Advanced settings>ONVIF settings:
- Video doorbell RTSP stream:rtsp://user:pass@ip:10554/tcp/av0_0 copy it
- PTZ IP Camera RTSP stream: rtsp://user:pass@ip:554/11 copy it
- Now open XSplit Broadcaster
- On the bottom, under scene 1, click on “Add”, mouse over “Webcam, capture card, video devices”, then click on “RTSP IP Camera”
- Here you can paste in the address we copied earlier
- Now you should be able to see the doorbell/camera in XSplit Broadcaster, almost done!
- Finally, go to “Outputs” in the menu, then click on YouTube Live, log in to your account from there and setup the stream settings, such as bitrate and framerate, we recommend keeping that at the native doorbells resolution which is 720p at 30 fps. For camera you can select 1080p or 720p, depending on the available bandwidth.
- Once it begins streaming, it will say so at the top in red, “Streaming Live”, and your done!
- You can search for it by the name you gave the livestream on YouTube, or log in to your YouTube account and see it from your list of videos
